St. Paul Elder Services is proud to announce that it has been named the top-ranking Top Workplace among midsize company nominees in Northeast Wisconsin, along with earning additional accolades in leadership and organizational effectiveness. The Top Workplaces award winners were chosen through a survey process in which employees answered questions about the benefits and pay, leadership and culture of their workplace.

The Top Workplaces Award highlights SPES’ excellence among midsize companies, a testament to SPES’ commitment to creating a supportive and engaging work environment for its 450 regional employees.

The Leadership – Midsize Award was awarded to President and CEO Sondra Norder, recognizing the confidence employees have in her leadership. This award underscores her dedication to fostering an inclusive and empowering atmosphere — a key part of the cultural transformation SPES has been undergoing over the past year.

One of the cornerstones of SPES’ culture transformation has been a shared leadership approach. Rather than using a top-down hierarchy, SPES empowers associates at every level to be decision-makers. It is the employees who best understand what changes are needed and why; allowing them to feel that their voice is welcomed helps the entire organization grow and best serve the community.

“We know that the first step of ensuring that those we serve are treated compassionately and feel at home is making sure that our associates, from nutrition services and healthcare workers to maintenance professionals, are also treated compassionately and feel at home,” said president and CEO of SPES, Sondra Norder.

The Doers Award celebrates the organization’s efficiency and effectiveness.

“These awards would have been an honor in any circumstance but knowing that they are the direct result of employee feedback makes them that much better,” added Norder. “It’s a great day to be part of the St. Paul Elder Services team.”
