Celebrating 25 Years of St. Paul Villa: Honoring Community, Connection, and Care

St. Paul Elder Services is proud to celebrate 25 years of serving residents, families, and community members at St. Paul Villa — affectionately known as The Villa.

Earlier this month, Villa residents, associates, volunteers, and friends gathered for a joyful anniversary cocktail party to commemorate this milestone. The celebration featured delicious appetizers, live music, and plenty of laughter and reminiscing. Special thanks go out to Linda, the Villa team, and our dedicated volunteers for planning such a wonderful event that reflected the heart of our mission — community, compassion, and connection.

A Legacy of Home and Heart

The Villa first opened its doors in 2000 as a residential care apartment complex (RCAC) offering apartment-style assisted living for individuals with minimal to moderate care needs or for those simply seeking meaningful daily socialization. Each apartment provides the independence of home with the peace of mind that comes from personalized, supportive care.

The Villa also offers short-term respite stays for individuals recovering from surgery or illness, allowing them to heal in a comfortable, community-based setting.

Building on a Strong Foundation

The Villa was originally built after SPES replaced the Kaukauna Community Hospital with a new facility that included The Villa, an expansion of the Passages Memory Care program, the Haen Community Center, and a new therapy department.

Community demand for Villa’s services was immediate and strong — the building reached full occupancy quickly and expanded to 89 apartments just three years later.

Continuing the Mission

“For 25 years, The Villa has been a place where residents live fully and meaningfully,” said Sondra Norder, President and CEO of St. Paul Elder Services. “To see the Villa’s members pursue their unique interests, benefit from our many programs and services, and build relationships with our associates and one another is deeply rewarding. It perfectly exemplifies the person-directed care approach that our entire team strives toward.”

As we celebrate this silver anniversary, we look ahead with gratitude for all who have called The Villa home — and excitement for the many years of care and connection still to come.
