Students visit St. Paul Elder Services to explore career opportunities

St. Paul Elder Services recently collaborated with Inspire Wisconsin to give students a first-hand look into the world of healthcare career opportunties.

Inspire Wisconsin is an organization that offers high school students with career-based learning by providing resources such as company showcase tours, job shadows and mentoring opportunities. Their goal is to help students graduate “career ready” with skills and experiences through connections with employers in the industry.

Students from area school districts including Kaukauna, Appleton, Little Chute, Menasha and Neenah were invited to attend the St. Paul Elder Services showcase where they were able to gain insight into a variety of different healthcare career paths and get a better understanding of what each role involves.

In addition to nursing and caregiving, the tour also explored other opportunities available at St. Paul Elder Services like environmental services, such as building maintenance or housekeeping roles, nutrition and dining services, and therapeutic recreation. Each position is key in fulfilling the mission of St. Paul Elder Services of enriching the life experience of those they serve.

“There was a lot of community outreach and very involved, tailored programs for community caregivers and residents”

During the event, St. Paul Elder Services made it easy for students to take the first step in their healthcare journey by providing onsite resume submission opportunities.
