Every year, St. Paul Elder Services (SPES) dedicates an evening of celebration to its many hardworking associates. Whether serving others through maintenance, dietary services or medical care, it takes a large team to continue to serve so many community members while maintaining the reputation that SPES has earned for providing high-quality, person-centered care.
A Celebration of Shared Leadership
SPES takes pride in its culture of shared leadership in which all associates are encouraged to partake in the organization’s day-to-day decision-making. Often, they are the first to notice when something is working well and should be done more frequently or when change is needed. More than anything, associates lead one another through dignified interactions with those who utilize their many services.
A Selfless Pursuit of Exceptional Service
This year, more than 20 associates were nominated by colleagues, SPES residents and residents’ family members for the Selfless Pursuit of Exceptional Service award, an alternate use of the commonly recognized SPES acronym. Associate Alex Bennett was honored with the award, with many kind words shared from those who nominated him, such as:
“Alex is a team player and works well individually and even better as a team member. He helps create a positive workspace that is uplifting and supportive.”
“Alex is an all-around outstanding person. He is kind to everyone around him, and he helps without question. He is the type of person who would give the shirt off his back to help others. He puts every resident/tenant/patient in his care at the top of his list and goes above and beyond to care for them.”
“Alex makes his presence known, not just because of his height, but also because he provides great person-centered care in a quiet yet respectful manner. Those we serve enjoy him. Families respect him. We love working with him.”
Giving Back to the Community
The annual winner is awarded a sum of money to be donated to the organization of their choice by St. Paul Elder Services, underscoring their dedication to community service. Congratulations and thank you to Alex, the other nominees and all the associates who make St. Paul Elder Services a one-of-a-kind place to work, live and visit. The work you do impacts many lives.
